Family in the garden

A painting created for a young, growing family. I painted this richly structured, dreamlike piece for an understated interior. The family in the picture is resting in their garden on a sunny day. The figures within the tangle of ornamentally depicted elements of nature are almost indistinguishable to the eye. Together with their pets they enjoy each other's presence.

In the foreground, surrounded by birds, a table laden with refreshments can be seen. The space is bordered by a low fence, and the trees in the garden are full of detailed geometrical shapes with colorful sap flowing through their trunks. Nothing disturbs the harmony.
