Elisabeth

This painting depicts my eldest daughter, Elisabeth—a dreamy girl fully immersed in her inner world. A multitude of diverse ornaments are connected by two ellipses; the patterns do not repeat, but are united solely by their color scheme. A bold painting with an expressive style; the unique organic area in the composition is beneath the girl’s hand—the hem of her Chinese robe, which, aside from the girl’s figure, is the only realistic element in the painting.
